Need Help Lining Up Putts

When you’re behind your ball reading the green you of course visualize some type of line that you think the ball needs to take in order to go in the cup.  As you approach your putt try picking a small piece of grass or a discrepancy in the green about 8 to 12in in front of the ball on the line that you think the putt needs to start out at.  When you get into your stance to stroke your putt line up the putter face with the spot 8-12in. in front of the ball.  It’s important to focus on that spot and not the cup.  Once you feel that you’re properly lined up then look at the hole and make your practice stroke.  This is an important technique to learn and the majority of great putters in the world do this every time the line up a putt.
